Dag Gadol

Dag Gadol

11 in x 11 in, pen & ink, 2023.

This work is a take on the biblical story of Jonah. In Hebrew, “dag gadol” translates into “great fish.” Swallowed along with a small ship, a tentacled creature assaults the viewer. I focused on adding roaring and spraying water to add movement and a feeling of distress.
