Crossroads
Crossroads
11 in x 11 in, pen & ink, 2019.
This work takes the point of view of the events immediately following one’s death. You take the perspective of someone hurtling through an other-worldly corridor accompanied by other beings in the same predicament as yourself.
A decision is to be made regarding which corridor to choose. It is uncertain, which option is more favorable, and several of the figures flying have already made their choice. This feeling is intended to draw parallels to the choices an individual must make in their own lives, where one is unsure if the outcome will be favorable or unfavorable. Either way, one must make many choices in the moment, some of which can determine one’s future.
Looking closer at this scene, the right corridor leads to a familiar scene from another one of my works “Ascension/Descent” where a soul will be judged and sent to continue its journey.
